Βιογραφικό Σημείωμα

Απόφοιτη της Σχολής Βιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Έσσεξ της Αγγλίας, με μεταπτυχιακό στη Θαλάσσια Βιολογία από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης.
Ξεκίνησε να εργάζεται το 2001 στο Ινστιτούτο Θαλάσσιας Βιολογίας Κρήτης (ΙΘΑΒΙΚ), στο τμήμα Θαλάσσιας Βιολογίας και Οικολογίας και κατόπιν στο Ινστιτούτο Ωκεανογραφίας του ΕΛΚΕΘΕ, μετά τη συγχώνευση με το ΙΘΑΒΙΚ.
Η δουλειά της είναι πάνω στα βενθικά μακροασπόνδυλα και έχει ειδικευτεί στη συστηματική ταξινομία των Δεκάποδων καρκινοειδών. Τα επιστημονικά της ενδιαφέροντα αφορούν βιοποικιλότητα, δομή και δυναμική θαλάσσιων οικοσυστημάτων, οικολογία μεταβατικών και παράκτιων οικοσυστημάτων, βενθική μακροπανίδα και εισβολικά είδη.
Είναι μέλος της επιστημονικής ομάδας του ELNAIS (Ellenic Network on Aquatic Invasive Species) και της ομάδας εκπαίδευσης του ΕΛΚΕΘΕ Κρήτης, ενώ έχει αποτελέσει μέλος της οργανωτικής επιτροπής των Πανελλήνιων Συμποσίων Ωκεανογραφίας και Αλιείας και της Βραδιάς Ερευνητή.
Έχει δουλέψει σε πολλά εθνικά και διεθνή προγράμματα, έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλά διεθνή συνέδρια και μιλά απταίστως αγγλικά, ιταλικά και ισπανικά, ενώ έχει καλή γνώση των Ολλανδικών.
